What AnyWeather publishes
AnyWeather combines current conditions, short-range forecasts, air-quality readings, precipitation maps, and manually maintained city climate guides. Forecasts are probabilistic estimates, not observations of future conditions.
Data sources and roles
Open-Meteo supplies server-rendered current conditions, short forecasts, and the ERA5 historical data used for monthly city climate baselines. WeatherAPI.com supplies the interactive current weather, forecast, air-quality, and alert modules. RainViewer supplies precipitation radar frames. Provider coverage, models, station inputs, and update times differ.
Update and caching
Live modules request recent provider data when a visitor opens or refreshes a view. Server-rendered summaries use a short cache to keep pages reliable and fast. The observation or forecast time shown in each module is more meaningful than the page publication date.
How recommendations are made
Clothing and activity suggestions use transparent thresholds based on temperature, feels-like temperature, precipitation, wind, UV, and air quality. They are rule-based guidance, not artificial-intelligence predictions or professional medical advice.
Monthly climate calculations
For curated city and travel comparison pages, AnyWeather averages ERA5 daily maximum temperature, minimum temperature, and precipitation over the 1991-2020 reference period. Monthly precipitation is the 30-year mean of each month's total. Both cities in a comparison use the same source, calculation, and reference period. ERA5 is gridded reanalysis rather than a city-center station record, so the table is labeled as modeled climate context.
City and travel context
Best-time, route, and packing sections are maintained as editorial context for a curated page set. Live comparisons describe short-term differences; monthly tables provide long-term context. Neither replaces official travel and hazard advice.
Limitations
Local terrain, rapidly developing storms, station gaps, model uncertainty, provider delays, and device location errors can all create differences between this site and conditions at a specific address. For warnings and safety decisions, use the relevant national or local meteorological authority.
