Privacy Policy
1. Data we process
AnyWeather processes only the data needed to provide weather features, remember choices, secure the service, and understand aggregate usage.
- Location: precise browser location only after you grant permission, or a city name you enter manually.
- Usage and device data: pages viewed, approximate region, browser type, operating system, timestamps, referrer, and technical identifiers.
- Preferences: language, saved cities, units, and privacy choices stored in your browser.
- Server data: IP address and request logs that hosting and security providers may process to deliver and protect the site.
2. Why we use data
We use data to return local forecasts, maintain security, remember your choices, diagnose errors, measure aggregate performance when you consent, and improve weather explanations. We do not sell personal information.
3. Weather and infrastructure providers
Weather requests may be processed by WeatherAPI.com, Open-Meteo, and RainViewer. Vercel hosts the site and may process network and diagnostic information. Each provider handles data under its own privacy terms.
4. Analytics
Google Analytics, Vercel Analytics, and Ahrefs Analytics load only after you accept analytics in Cookie Settings. These services may process cookies or similar identifiers, page URLs, IP-derived location, device data, and interaction events for measurement. You can withdraw consent at any time from the cookie icon on the site.
5. Google advertising disclosures
If Google advertising is enabled, Google and other advertising partners may place or read cookies, use web beacons, IP addresses, or other identifiers, and process information to serve, measure, and protect ads. Advertising consent and personalization choices will be collected through a Google-certified consent platform where required. Advertising is not currently required to use AnyWeather.
6. Location, retention, and security
Browser location is requested through your device permission dialog and transmitted over HTTPS only to return weather for that request. AnyWeather does not intentionally store precise coordinates in a user profile. Browser preferences remain until you clear them or change your choices. Providers retain technical data under their own policies. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and contact
You may deny location access, reject optional analytics, reopen Cookie Settings, clear browser storage, or request access, correction, or deletion of information AnyWeather controls. Contact [email protected]. Depending on your location, you may also have rights to object, restrict processing, or lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
